In Loving Memory of Jose Luis “Gigio” Diaz With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He was a man who lived life with an open heart & an adventurous spirit. He was always up for an adventure, whether it was a spontaneous trip, a family gathering, or simply making memories with the people he loved. He had a way of making even the simplest moments feel special, and his sense of humor, laughter and presence brought warmth wherever he went. He was also a proud San Diego Padres fan, and cheering on his team was one of the many things that brought him joy. Whether watching a game, talking baseball, or sharing the excitement of a Padres win, his passion for his team was just another part of what made him uniquely him. Above all else, family was the center of his world. He loved his wife, Teresa, deeply and was a loving father to his two sons, Jose Luis & Ivan Miguel. His eight grandchildren — Ava, Adrian, Erin, Olivia, Alexander, Nevaeh, Ivan Jr. & Esteban — brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with them. His love extended far beyond his immediate family—he held his brothers Jose Juan & Efren, cousins, extended family, and friends close to his heart. He made people feel like they belonged, and his generosity, loyalty, and genuine love for others will never be forgotten. Throughout his battle with cancer, he showed incredible strength and courage. Though his journey was difficult, he continued to find reasons to smile, love with a big heart, laugh, and make the most of the time he had with those around him. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured forever by his wife, two sons, eight grandchildren, brothers, cousins, extended family, and countless friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him. His life was a gift, his love was unforgettable, and his memory will live on through every adventure, every family gathering, every Padre game and every story told about him. Though he may no longer be with us, the love he gave so freely will remain in the hearts of his family forever.
